Resolve from Session 2: Undertake a journey resolution- Strong hit with a Match
Match: Valryc finds a game trail that appears to be well used. Following this trail allows him to travel with haste through the forest. This trail leads him to a secluded pool of water where he will be able to safely make camp.
Waypoint: Safe and secure campsite at the secluded pool.

Valryc moves quickly away from the village, hoping that he can make some distance from the village before the Shadiri discover their slain warriors. He climbs out of the valley, moving in a more direct path towards where the Elven ruins are suspected to be located. Since he now knows the Shadiri have already moved into the area, he abandons his attempt to avoid them by circling wide of the direct route. He climbs to the ridge overlooking the village, looking back with sadness in his eyes before turning and pressing forward. He quickly finds a game trail that moves in the direction that he plans to travel. This allows him to move at speed as he heads towards the ruins. Though the forest is dense, the trail allows him to travel with haste. The day fades and darkness begins to fall. He begins looking for a place that he might safely camp. “Gods be good” he thinks to himself as he finds a small pool of water in a secluded section of the forest. “This will make a perfect camp. And with the tree coverage, there is little chance that I’ll be discovered.” He sets his pack down and quickly sets camp. He fills his water skin and digs in his pack for some of the dried rations that he collected from his fallen allies. He thanks his lost friends before he fills his belly. He creates a small flame and warms himself as he prepares to sleep. Pulling out the iron arrowhead he wears around his neck, he brings it to his mouth, kissing it and then holding it to his forehead. “I will not forget my promise, my friends. I will finish our task, no matter the danger.” He lays his head down, smothering the fire and drifts off to sleep. Though he has had a traumatic few days, he sleeps heavily, waking rested and ready to move on.

Valryc wakes the next morning as the sun crests over the mountains to the east. He packs his things, taking a last drink from the fresh water, before readying to continue. “About five days left.” He thinks to himself. Knowing that his initial plan of avoiding the Shadiri is lost, he decides to make as direct a path towards where the ruins are supposed to be located as he can. He keeps his eyes to the sky as he travels, hoping that Strieg will find him before he arrives.

Undertake a Journey: Valryc continues on from the safe haven of the secluded pool he found in the forest, knowing that the Shadiri may be between himself and his goal.
Strong hit: Action die 7; Challenge die 5/4
+2 progress; Reach a waypoint (ORACLE: Location & Descriptor 60/56: Wide Moor)

Reach a Milestone: Reaching the mountains where the ruins are located means Valryc has moved closer to completing his vow. His quickened pace means he just might make it there before the Shadiri have found what they are looking for. +1 progress on his vow.

Valryc continues his travels, making sure that he is careful with his resources. He knows that there is urgency in his quest, but he also knows that arriving at the ruins without supplies means he won’t be able to make the journey back to Wrennsfall. He travels up into the mountains and the way becomes difficult. Just as he thinks he will be waylaid by the difficult terrain, he finds himself coming down into a valley. As he descends into the valley, the terrain opens up into a wide moor. The grasslands here are fertile but undisturbed. He is relieved by the fact that he’ll have easy travel ahead, doubly so as he sees no Shadiri tracks ahead. Somehow the cultist warriors had missed the easy travel through this valley. He picks up his pace and continues on. He travels through the valley for several days, pulling out his map and making sure that he is headed in the right direction. The Elven ruins were reported to be deep in the mountains to the north west of Wrennsfall. After his first day of travel he has made good time. After several days moving through the valley, he begins his climb into the mountains where the ruins are thought to be. Several days of good travel have lightened his spirits, but he steels himself for the difficult way ahead.

Undertake a Journey: Valryc begins his trek into the mountains, knowing he is closing in on his destination.
Miss: Action die 3; Challenge die 5/8
Waylaid by a perilous event; pay the price

He climbs into the mountains, but Valryc struggles to maintain his travel speed as he faces peak after peak of mountain range. The difficult travel leaves him disheartened. “Surely the Shadiri will have made it to these ruins before I can if I keep up this pitiful pace” he yells at himself as he struggles to make headway up yet another difficult mountain pass. He begins losing momentum. The difficult terrain is taking its toll on the scout captain. His spirit is breaking…

Endure Stress: The difficulty in his travel has left Valryc feeling defeated. He must muster his strength to continue past this difficult section of his journey
Strong hit: Action die 11; Challenge die 9/6
Embrace the darkness: +1 Momentum

Though his mood has darkened, he presses on. Harder and faster than he was before, Valryc climbs the peak in front of him. He climbs the next. And the next. His iron will pushes him forward. His promise to his fallen allies drives him forward. His promise to the slain villagers drives him forward. “I’ll make it there. No matter what I face, I will not let it stop me!” He thinks to himself as he urges his legs to move, step after step after step. He presses forward, ever closer to his destination

Undertake a Journey: Valryc presses on, his spirits bent but not broken. He knows he is nearing his destination. All he must do is press forward.
Strong hit: Action die 6; Challenge die 4/2
+2 progress +1 momentum -1 supply; Reach a waypoint

Valryc presses forward. Though he has lost time moving through the mountains he is not defeated. He rests infrequently, but when he does he makes sure to eat plenty of food to keep his body moving. He knows his supplies are dwindling, but he hopes that the risk will mean he can arrive at his destination before it is too late. As he crests the next mountain peak, he sees off in the distance a well worn path leading up to a ridge in the next mountain. “It must be there. I must be close!” He prepares himself for the final push to his destination.
